IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI Title A RESOLUTION congratulating Joseph Redden on his 37-year career as a teacher and coach and wishing him well on his retirement. Intro RESOLUTION #10838, May 15, 1995 INTRODUCED BY James D. Tindall, John Patrick Burnett, and Dan Tarwater, County Legislators Body WHEREAS, Joseph Redden was born in Columbus, Ohio and raised in Cleveland; and, WHEREAS, Mr. Redden served two years in the United States Army and played professional football for two years in Toronto, Canada; and, WHEREAS, he began his teaching and coaching career in Kansas City, Kansas in 1958, and taught at Sumner High School for 12 years, served as assistant principal at Coronado Junior High School for one year, and vice principal of Washington High School for four years; and, WHEREAS, after moving to Missouri, he taught at Central High School for four years and Lincoln Academy for Accelerated Studies for eight years; and, WHEREAS, Mr. Redden started teaching at the elementary level in 1987, and has taught at Garfield, Whittier, Thatcher, Woodland and Switzer, before transferring to Chester A. Franklin and Williard Montessori Magnet School where his final teaching career ends; and WHEREAS, Mr. Redden's wife, Faith, is retired after 12 years with Johnson County and their daughter, Terri Lisa, is currently employed as a teacher of Business Education at Ruskin High Scho l in the Hickman Mills School District; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Mr. Redden on his career in education and wishes him success and happiness in his future. Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of he Legislature.
