Health & Justice Committee Amendment March 22, 1999 IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI Title A RESOLUTION authorizing Change Order No. 9 to the contract with Mark I Electric Company of Kansas City, MO (Bid No. PW-2345, Bid Package No. 7), for various changes required in connection with the furnishing and installation of electrical and security systems for the expansion at the Jackson County Detention Center, increasing the contract amount by $82,244.00. Intro RESOLUTION #12571, March 8, 1999 INTRODUCED BY Terry Young, County Legislator Body WHEREAS, the County did, by Resolution 11691, dated April 8, 1997, enter into a contract with Mark I Electric Company, in the actual amount of $1,959,322.00, and authorized additional expenditures approved by the County Executive at a cost not to exceed $97,966.00, for a total amount not to exceed $2,057,288.00, for the furnishing and installation of electrical and security systems for the expansion at the Jackson County Detention Center; and, WHEREAS, subsequent change orders have adjusted the contract amount to the current authorization of $2,776,412.00; and, WHEREAS, the proposed Change Order No. 9, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, is necessary due to the addition of 25 security/electrical items which are required for the safe and efficient operation of the Detention Center, along with back charges to other prime contractors, miscellaneous items for the jail staff, and rework in the basement area for the reinforcement of structural joists, and said change order will result in an increase not to exceed $82,244.00; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that Change Order No. 9 to the aforesaid contract is approved and the County Executive is authorized to execute the change order on behalf of the County; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, except final payment on the contract. Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
