WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to cover the Family Court Division's Family Drug Court Program grant received from the State of Missouri Drug Courts Coordinating Commission for the period July 1, 2008, to June 30, 2009; and,
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Family Drug Court Program is to help substance-abusing offenders break the cycle of addiction and avoid the crimes that often accompany addiction; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be made from the fund balance of the 2008 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund:
