AN ORDINANCE transferring $40,000.00 within and appropriating $50,000.00 from the fund balance of the 2008 Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund to fund a contractual interest payment and employee salaries for the Jackson County Drug Court program.

Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 15466, dated April 18, 2005, the Legislature did authorize the County Executive to execute an Interlocal Agreement as a component of an application for a Justice Assistance Grant from the U.S. Department of Justice; and,
WHEREAS, sections 7 and 12 of the Interlocal Agreement require the County to establish a trust fund account and further require the County to provide the City of Kansas City with half of the interest earned on the trust fund account; and,
WHEREAS, section 6 of the Interlocal Agreement authorizes funding for the Jackson County Drug Court; and,
WHEREAS, the County's portion of the interest from the trust fund account is to be used to fund employee salaries for the Jackson County Drug Court program; and,
WHEREAS, the program also needs to transfer funds from health insurance into salaries to meet payroll through the end of the year; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer and appropriation are necessary in order to place the required funds in the proper spending accounts; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said transfer and appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer and appropriation be and are hereby made:
