A RESOLUTION awarding a thirty-month term and supply contract for the furnishing of automation control products and services for use by the Jackson County Detention Center to Control Service Company of Lee’s Summit, Missouri under the terms and conditions of OMNIA Cooperative Contract #159051, an existing competitively bid government contract.

RESOLUTION NO. 22281, June 1, 2026

 

INTRODUCED BY Donna Peyton, County Legislator

 

 

Body

 WHEREAS, the County uses the brand Automated Logic for building automation controls at the new detention facility and other buildings; and,

 

WHEREAS, this system uses proprietary software, controls, and various parts available only through Automated Logic and their authorized representatives; and,

 

WHEREAS, Control Service Company of Lee’s Summit, MO is the regionally authorized representative for Automated Logic building controls; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of a contract to Control Service Company of Lee’s Summit, MO under the terms and conditions set forth in the OMNIA Cooperative Contract #159051, an existing competitively-bid government contract; and,

 

WHEREAS, section 1030.4, Jackson County Code, 1984, requires that for any such purchase in excess of $25,000.00, the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing shall submit the purchase to the County Legislature for approval; and,

 

WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any specific amount, with availability of funds for specific purchases subject to annual appropriation, with an estimated annual expenditure of $30,000.00; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Interim Director be and hereby is authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the issuing spending agencies are contained in the then current Jackson County budget.

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
