Body
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 600.040, RSMo, Jackson County is obligated to provide office space for use by the Public Defender’s Office; and,
WHEREAS, the Public Defender’s Office is in need of leased space, which is adequately being accommodated in the Office’s existing space in the Oak Tower Building; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1054.6 of the Jackson County Code, 1984 the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of a contract for the lease of office space for a ninety-day period for use by the State of Missouri Public Defenders to Oak Tower, of Kansas City, MO, at an actual cost to the County not to exceed $98,653.00; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing and that the Interim Director be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached lease agreement with Oak Tower of Kansas City, Missouri, and any other documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Interim Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the lease, to the extent sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency are contained in the then current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
