Body
WHEREAS, the County did, by Resolution 11641, dated March 3, 1997, enter into a contract with Rodriguez Mechanical Contractors, Inc., of Overland Park, KS, in the actual amount of $2,315,360.00, and authorized additional expenditures approved by the County Executive at a cost not to exceed $116,000.00, for a total amount not to exceed $2,431,360.00, for the construction and installation of mechanical and plumbing systems for the expansion at the Jackson County Detention Center; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive and/or Legislature have approved Change Orders 1 through 11 for a total of $207,526.00, adjusting the contract amount to the current authorization of $2,522,886.00; and,
WHEREAS, the proposed Change Order No. 12, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, is necessary due to miscellaneous contract changes and additions, and said change order will result in an increase not to exceed $17,088.00 for a new total cost not to exceed $2,539,974.00; and,
WHEREAS, in order to fund this change order, an appropriation is necessary; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends said appropriation as an amendment to her proposed 2001 County budget; therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the unappropriated surplus of the 2001 Criminal Justice Improvement Fund be and hereby is made:

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make final payment on the contract.

Effective Date: This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
