IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI Title A RESOLUTION authorizing the Chair of the Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fiscal Commission to execute an agreement with Swope Parkway Health Center, for the continuation of the Health Care for Homeless program in the amount of $50,000.00 on the recommendation of the Jackson County Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fiscal Commission. Intro RESOLUTION #10818, May 9,1995 INTRODUCED BY Lisa White Hardwick, County Legislator Body WHEREAS, the Jackson County Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fiscal Commission was empowered by Ordinances 1771, 1795 and 1941 to make recommendations to the Legislature for the expenditure of Anti-Drug Sales Tax Funds for the purposes of treatment and rehabilitation of drug offenders; and, WHEREAS, the County Legislature authorized grant matching funds through Ordinance 2373; and, WHEREAS, the Fiscal Commission has reviewed a proposal from Swope Parkway Health Center; and, WHEREAS, the Health Care for Homeless program is an aggressive, mobile outreach program, staffed by physician assistants, drug and alcohol counselors, and case managers, for treatment of the homeless population wherever they are found, for drug and alcohol abuse; and, WHEREAS, the Health Care for Homeless program receives federal funding from the Department of Health and Human Services in the amount of $1.2 million; and WHEREAS, the Fiscal Commission has carefully reviewed this 1995 proposal from Swope Parkway Health Services; and, WHEREAS, the Fiscal Commission has recommended funding in the amount of $50,000 from the Anti-Drug Sales Tax Fund for Swope Parkway Health Center's proposal; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Chair of the Fiscal Commission is hereby authorized to execute the attached agreement, a copy of which is incorporated herein by reference, with Swope Parkway Health Center. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of the Division of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement. Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
