A RESOLUTION congratulating John and Sally Graham on the occasion of their fortieth wedding anniversary.

Body
WHEREAS, on September 17, 1955, John and Sally (Lewis) Graham were married at the Presbyterian Church in Richmond, Missouri; and,
WHEREAS, they established their first home on the Country Club Plaza in Kansas City where John first learned the valuable lesson of never bringing his wife a practical wedding anniversary present such as an ironing board; and,
WHEREAS, John and Sally have raised nine boys, Scott, John Jr., James Andrew, Bruce, Brian, Douglas, Donald, David, and Michael, and have additionally been blessed by nine wonderful grandchildren; and,
WHEREAS, John and Sally have true family values as they both believe that their family comes first and foremost before anything else; and,
WHEREAS, John has served on the Jackson County Legislature since January 1, 1995 and is currently a director and organizer for First Bank of Missouri in Lee's Summit; and,
WHEREAS, Sally was the primary caregiver for their nine children as they were growing up and later entered the work force in the art field and now works as a counselor at John Knox Village; and,
WHEREAS, John and Sally attend the First Presbyterian Church of Lee's Summit; and,
WHEREAS, John is very active in the Chamber of Commerce of Lee's Summit where he has served as Chairman since 1994; and,
WHEREAS, John and Sally will celebrate their fortieth wedding anniversary during a family gathering at Harry Starkers in Kansas City; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates John and Sally Graham on the occasion of their fortieth wedding anniversary, and wishes them many more wonderful years together.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
