Body
WHEREAS, on March 30, 1994, a Petition for Incorporation of a proposed town to be known as Summit Ridge was filed with the Clerk of the County legislature pursuant to
72.080, RSMo 1986; and,
WHEREAS, the Petition for Incorporation meets the requirements of law as set forth in
72.080; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature is satisfied that a number of voters equal to 15% of the votes cast in the
last gubernatorial election in the area proposed to be incorporated have signed the Petition for Incorporation; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri as follows:
Section 1. The Petition for Incorporation of the town of Summit Ridge satisfies the requirements of
72.080, RSMo and was properly filed thereunder.
Section 2. A number of voters equal to 15% of the votes cast in the last gubernatorial election in the area proposed to be incorporated as the of Summit Ridge have signed the Petition f r Incorporation.
Section 3. The Clerk of the County Legislature is hereby directed to certify to the Jackson County Board of Election Commissioners the following question:
Shall the area proposed as the town of Summit Ridge consisting of the approximate 3500
acre tract of land generally located west of Highway 7 and north and south of 50 Highway
be incorporated as a town
to be placed on the ballot for the August 2, 1994 primary election.
Attorney Effective Date: This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its passage by the County Executive.
