Title
A ORDINANCE appropriating $5,000.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 2004 General Fund to partially sponsor the Global Legacy-NAITCP 2004 Summit and authorizing the County Executive to execute an Agreement with North American International Trade Corridor Partnership (NAITCP), to implement this sponsorship at an actual cost to the County of $5,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the County and the North American International Trade Corridor Partnership (NAITCP) desire to enter into an agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, whereunder the County will pay $5,000.00 to Global Legacy-NAITCP 2004, to be used for sponsorship of its 2004 NAITCP Summit in Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, the County sponsorship will enhance economic development opportunities by enabling County representatives to network with national and international government leaders, city and state officials, directors of economic development and trade associates on such issues as travel, tourism, life sciences, and infrastructure and export possibilities with international partners; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to cover the sponsorship of the Global Legacy-NAITCP 2004 Summit; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation be made from the unappropriated surplus of the 2004 General Fund:

Effective Date: This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
