WHEREAS, on November 2, 2010, Gary Cross was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives, representing the 48th  District in eastern Jackson County; and,
 
WHEREAS, Gary is a lifelong resident of eastern Jackson County and a successful local small businessman; and,
 
WHEREAS, Gary is committed to working for the creation of an entrepreneurial environment that allows small businesses to flourish and create jobs; and,
 
WHEREAS, Gary also supports creating a high-tech environment in our public schools so that students are prepared for the challenges of today's work force; and,
 
WHEREAS, Gary has deep roots in the community, having graduated from the University of Central Missouri and worked in the automotive, industrial sales, and real estate fields; and,
 
WHEREAS, Gary is a member of Woods Chapel United Methodist Church and has been married to his wife Jan for 30 years; now therefore,
 
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature congratulates Gary Cross on his election to the Missouri House of Representatives for the 48th District, and wishes him much success in the future.
