Body
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. 164-96 for the construction of the interior of the Jacomo Marina Building; and,
WHEREAS, he has received as the lowest three bids thereon bids from the following:
VENDOR BID
Messina Builders & Contractors Company
North Kansas City, MO, $111,751.00
Vision Construction Company
Kansas City (Jackson County), MO $120,930.00
N.W. Rogers Construction, Inc.
Blue Springs, MO $133,710.00
and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has recommended that award be made to Messina Builders and Contractors Company of North Kansas City, MO, for the reason that it has submitted the lowest and best bid; and,
WHEREAS, while funds sufficient for this expenditure were included in the County's 1996 budget, delays in the bidding process took this contract into the 1997 budget year, such that a reappropriation from the unappropriated surplus of the 1997 Enterprise Fund is necessary to fund this contract; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following reappropriation be made from the unappropriated surplus of the 1997 Enterprise Fund:

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract...Attorney
Effective Date: This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
