Body
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing has solicited bids on Invitation to Bid No. 9-14 for the furnishing of lawn maintenance equipment and small engine replacement, parts, and services, for use by various County departments, for the upcoming twenty-four month period, with two twelve-month options to extend; and,
WHEREAS, a total of twenty-three notifications were distributed and four responses were received from the following vendors:
Lawn & Leisure
Lee=s Summit, MO
Van Wall
Olathe, KS
Professional Turf
Euless, TX
Feldmans
Blue Springs, MO
and,
WHEREAS, following evaluation of the bids, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the contract be awarded to Lawn and Leisure of Lee=s Summit, MO, and Van Wall of Olathe, KS, under the terms and conditions of Invitation to Bid 9-14, as the lowest and best bidders, as set forth in the attached recapitulation and analysis; and,
WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any specific amount, with the availability of funds for specific purchases subject to annual appropriation; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary, including future options to extend, to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contracts and extensions, to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the using agencies are contained in the then current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
