Body
WHEREAS, the Department of Corrections is in need of private security services at the vacant McCune Home property located at 21001 U.S. 24 Highway, Independence, MO; and,
WHEREAS, by Resolution 17594, dated May 16, 2011, the Legislature authorized a term and supply contract for security services with Statewide Public Safety of North Kansas City, MO, limited for use by the Parks + Rec Department; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends a ninety-day interim contract with this same firm for security services at the McCune property, for the period of August 1, 2013, through November 1, 2013, to allow the County the necessary lead time to issue and award an Invitation to Bid for these services; and,
WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any specific amount, with the availability of funds for specific purchases subject to annual appropriation; and,
WHEREAS, a transfer is necessary to cover this unanticipated expense; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends this transfer; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following transfer be made within the 2013 General Fund:

and,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award of an interim contract be made as recommended by the Director of Finance and Purchasing, and that the Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract, to the extent that sufficient budgeted funds are available.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
