INTRODUCED BY Dennis Waits, County Legislator
Body
WHEREAS, Bruce Lowrey is retiring after almost forty years as the City Clerk for the City of Independence, MO; and,
 
WHEREAS, Bruce began working as the City Clerk of Independence on July 10,1969; and,
 
WHEREAS, prior to his work as the City Clerk, Bruce was a math teacher at Truman High School, Pittman Hills Junior High, and Pattonsburg, MO, also working as the Principal at Pattonsburg, MO, for one year; and,
 
WHEREAS, Bruce has been a member of several professional associations throughout his career, including the International Institute of Municipal Clerks, the Missouri City Clerks and Finance Officers, the Missouri Municipal League, and the Association of Records Managers and Administrators; and,
 
WHEREAS, Bruce was honored as the City of Independence Employee of the Month for October, 1992, received the Missouri Outstanding City Clerk award in 1999, and received the Susie Black Award in 2007; and,
WHEREAS, Bruce's wife, Marilyn, and his two sons, David and Scott, share in celebrating his retirement; now therefore,
 
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby recognizes and congratulates Bruce Lowrey for his outstanding dedication and service to the City of Independence, MO, throughout the years and extends best wishes for his future endeavors upon his retirement.
 
 
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
