IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI Title A RESOLUTION awarding a contract on Bid No. PW-2345 for the demolition of the former Kansas City Election Board Building to Midland Wrecking Company of Lenexa, KS, at a cost not to exceed $141,588.00, and authorizing the County Executive to approve additional expenditures under this contract at a cost not to exceed $7,000.00, for a total amount not to exceed $148,588.00. Intro RESOLUTION 11364, July 22, 1996 INTRODUCED BY Victor E. Callahan, County Legislator Body WHEREAS, in connection with the Jackson County Detention Center expansion, the Purchasing Director has solicited formal written bids on Bid No. PW-2345 for the demolition of the former Kansas City Election Board building; and, WHEREAS, he has received as the lowest three bids thereon bids from the following: VENDOR BID Midland Wrecking Company $141,588.00 Lenexa, KS Deco Wrecking, Inc. $147,378.00 Kansas City (Jackson County), MO C. S. Ehinger Company $218,700.00 Kansas City (Jackson County), MO and, WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director has recommended that award be made to Midland Wrecking Company of Lenexa, KS, for the reason that it has submitted the lowest and best bid; and, WHEREAS, in the event that change orders to the contract become necessary, due to the time constraints involved in completing the demolition, it is appropriate that the County Executive be given authority to approve additional expenditures under this contract not to exceed $7,000.00, which is less than 5% of the contract amount; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by the Purchasing Director, and that the Purchasing Director be, and is hereby, authorized to execute for the County any documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Executive is authorized to approve additional expenditures which may become necessary under this contract in an amount not to exceed $7,000.00; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract. Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
