Body
WHEREAS, COMBAT has a continuing need to provide anti-drug information services to the youth through its annual public information forums; and,
WHEREAS, for more than fifty years, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has served as an outreach organization, providing drug awareness to athletes all across the Greater Kansas City area and has agreed to assist COMBAT in a November 2005 anti-steroid forum for which $10,488.00 has been recommended by the Prosecuting Attorney; and,
WHEREAS, the goal of the planned anti-steroid event, KNOW Steroids, is to prevent steroid use among middle and high school athletes through a three-pronged effort; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature that the County Executive is authorized to execute an Agreement to provide COMBAT Grant Match Funds in the amount of $10,488.00 for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, for the anti-steroid event, KNOW Steroids.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
