AN ORDINANCE appropriating $82,500.00 from the undesignated fund balance of the 2025 Grant Fund, in acceptance of a grant received from the United States Office of National Drug Control Policy, High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area program, for use by the Jackson County Drug Task Force for reimbursement of lease vehicle expenses and the purchase of illegal drugs for use for undercover work.

Body
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Drug Task Force (JCDTF) has been awarded a grant from the United States Office of National Drug Control Policy, High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (HIDTA) program in the amount of $82,500.00, to provide funding for leased vehicle costs and the purchase of illegal drugs for the undercover work of the JCDTF; and,
WHEREAS, the grant is awarded for the period of January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2026, and is not subject to a local matching funds requirement; and,
WHEREAS, the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) will serve as the fiscal agent for this grant; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place the grant funds in the appropriate spending accounts; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriations from the undesignated fund balance of the 2025 Grant Fund be and hereby are made:
