Body
WHEREAS, Mid-America Regional Council (MARC), a Missouri nonprofit corporation, provides an intergovernmental forum for the determination of region-wide goals and priorities to develop plans promoting the general health, welfare, and prosperity of citizens in the metropolitan Kansas City region; and,
WHEREAS, MARC assists in the improvement of public administration practices and urban and civic affairs throughout the region and promotes the interests of governmental efficiency and economy for the purpose of benefitting the residents of the governmental jurisdictions of the metropolitan Kansas City region; and,
WHEREAS, the MARC membership is made up of the following governmental entities: Johnson County, KS, Leavenworth County, KS, Wyandotte County, KS, Cass County, MO, Clay County, MO, Jackson County, MO, Platte County, MO, Ray County, MO, City of Independence, MO, City of Kansas City, MO, City of Kansas City, KS, and City of Overland Park, KS; and,
WHEREAS, MARC is updating it organization documents and board representation to better reflect the makeup of the region and has proposed changes in membership, By-laws, and Board structure; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the MARC Members' Agreement and the Written Consent of the Members of MARC are hereby approved and that the County Executive is authorized to execute all necessary documents in support of the governance changes proposed by MARC.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
