Body
WHEREAS, section 64.335, RSMo 2000, authorizes the Legislature to appoint park rangers with the authority to carry firearms within the confines of County parks, in order to furnish security similar to that provided in state parks, so long as each ranger so appointed meets stringent training requirements; and,
 
WHEREAS, Luke Covey and Zachary Smith possess the required training and are otherwise qualified to be appointed pursuant to state law; and,
 
WHEREAS, the appointment of these park rangers pursuant to state law is in the best interest of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of the County; now therefore,
 
BE IT RESOLVED that Luke Covey and Zachary Smith be and hereby are appointed as park rangers pursuant to section 64.335, RSMo 2000, with all rights and privileges granted by that section; and,
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the County Legislature be and hereby is authorized to administer the required oath of office to the newly appointed park rangers.
 
 
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
