IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI Title A RESOLUTION authorizing the Prosecuting Attorney to execute an agreement with the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependency, for the purpose of preventing drug and drug-related offenses, at a cost to the County not to exceed $30,433.00. Intro RESOLUTION #10619, January 30, 1995 INTRODUCED BY Lisa White Hardwick, County Legislator Body WHEREAS, the voters of Jackson County approved imposition of a sales tax for seven years to provide funding for the fight against illegal drugs in our community; and, WHEREAS, the proceeds and interest generated from this tax are deposited in a special Jackson County Anti-Drug Sales Tax Trust Fund that is segregated and not commingled with the general fund or any other special funds of the County; and, WHEREAS, the voters approved the sales tax such that a portion of the proceeds could be used for deferred prosecution, treatment, and rehabilitation; and, WHEREAS, the Prosecuting Attorney desires to assist in the provision of services and has recommended the expenditure of anti-drug sales tax funds for the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependency to conduct How to Cope sessions for adult family members of Drug Court clients and C.A.R.E. sessions targeting children ages 6-12; and, WHEREAS, the attached agreement sets forth the understanding of the parties with regard to this matter; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Prosecuting Attorney be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached agreement with the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependency; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Manager of the Division of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the agreement. Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
