Body
WHEREAS, William Rieck of Independence, Missouri, has successfully completed all requirements to attain Scouting's highest honor, the rank of Eagle Scout, and will be recognized at the Eagle Court of Honor on October 28, 2014; and,
 
WHEREAS, William, a freshman at Fort Osage High School, is a member of Boy Scout Troop 492 and is the troop's 100th Eagle Scout; and,
 
WHEREAS, as a Cub Scout, William earned the Arrow of Light, and as a Boy Scout, has earned the Missouri Conservation Award, attended Scouting University, and served in the positions of Den Chief and Patrol Leader; and,
 
WHEREAS, this year William became a Brave in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say at H. Roe Bartle Scout Reservation; and,
 
WHEREAS, for his Eagle Scout project, William planned and directed the construction of four bird houses and two park benches installed in the playground area of Elm Gove Elementary School in the Fort Osage School District; and,
 
WHEREAS, aside from scouting, William also enjoys Tae Kwon Do in which he earned a Black Belt in April 2014; and,
 
WHEREAS, William is also active in the United Methodist Church, participates in Youth Group, and received his Confirmation this past summer; and,
 
WHEREAS, William plays the piano, trombone, and marching baritone, and is a member of the Fort Osage Red/White Brigade Marching Band; and,
 
WHEREAS, William's proud parents, Bryan and Buffy Rieck, join in his celebration of this honor; now therefore,
 
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates William Rieck upon successfully completing all requirements to attain Scouting's highest honor, the rank of Eagle Scout, and extends well-deserved recognition for his contributions to the Jackson County community.
 
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
