AN ORDINANCE repealing Ordinance 5088, dated April 9, 2018, relating to the submission to the voters at the general election to be held on Tuesday November 6, 2018, a question authorizing the levy of a countywide property tax for senior citizens’ services.

ORDINANCE NO. 5127, August 13, 2018

 

INTRODUCED BY                     Scott Burnett, County Legislator

 

 

Body

 WHEREAS, by Ordinance 5088, dated April 9, 2018, the Legislature did submit to the voters at the general election to be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2018, a question authorizing the County to levy a countywide tax at the rate of five cents per each one hundred dollars of assessed valuation, for the purpose of providing services to persons sixty years of age or older; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Legislature has since been advised, and has now determined, that it is preferable that this question appear on the ballot of a future election, in 2019 or later, such that it is now appropriate that Ordinance 5088 be repealed; now therefore,

 

BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that Ordinance 5088, dated April 19, 2018, be and hereby is repealed.

 

 

 

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
