Title

A RESOLUTION authorizing the County Executive to execute an Agreement with Wayside Waifs, Inc., to provide for the impoundment of lost and unclaimed animals from within unincorporated Jackson County, at an actual cost to the County of $10,000.00.

Body

WHEREAS, the County provides a comprehensive animal control program within  unincorporated Jackson County, through a combination of County in-house resources and contractual arrangements; and,

 

WHEREAS, in addition to the County's program, however, many other lost and unclaimed animals from within the unincorporated county are impounded at not-for-profit animal shelters, one of the largest of which is Wayside Waifs, Inc; and,

 

WHEREAS, it is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County that the County support Wayside Waifs' program, at an actual cost to the County of $10,000.00; now therefore,

 

BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute the attached Agreement with Wayside Waifs, Inc; and,

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.

 

 

Enacted and Approved

Effective Date:  This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
