IN THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE OF JACKSON COUNTY, MISSOURI Title A RESOLUTION awarding a term and supply contract for the furnishing of Bomag recycling machine parts and service for use by the Public Works Department to Roadbuilders Machinery of Kansas City, KS, to provide for departmental needs for the upcoming one-year period, in the estimated amount of $15,000.00, as a sole source purchase. Intro RESOLUTION #11629, February 24, 1997 INTRODUCED BY John C. Graham, County Legislator Body WHEREAS, Section 1040.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source; and, WHEREAS, Section 1063.00 of the Code requires notification of and approval by the Legislature on such sole source purchases exceeding $5,000.00; and, WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director recommends a contract with Roadbuilders Machinery of Kansas City, Kansas, for the furnishing of Bomag recycling machine parts and service for use by the Public Works Department to provide for departmental needs for the upcoming one-year period; and, WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director further recommends that he not take competitive bids with regard to said contract for the reason that Roadbuilders Machinery of Kansas City, KS, is the only known supplier of Bomag recycling machine parts and service in the Kansas City metropolitan area; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Purchasing Director be, and hereby is, authorized to execute for the County a contract with Roadbuilders Machinery of Kansas City, KS, for the furnishing of Bomag recycling machine parts and service for use by the Public Works Department to provide for departmental needs for the upcoming one-year period, and any and all documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the contract, to the extent sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency has heretofore been made in the current Jackson County budget...Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
