Body
WHEREAS, Section 1040.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source; and,
WHEREAS, Section 1063.00 of the Code requires notification of and approval by the Legislature on such sole source purchases exceeding $5,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director recommends a contract with Truman Medical Center of Kansas City, MO, for the furnishing of X-ray services for use by the Medical Examiner's Office to provide for departmental needs for the upcoming one-year period; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director further recommends that he not take competitive bids with regard to said contract for the reason that Truman Medical Center Company of Kansas City, MO, is the only supplier of X-ray services in the Kansas City metropolitan area that is able to meet the needs of the Medical Examiner's Office; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri that the Purchasing Director be, and hereby is, authorized to execute for the County a contract with Truman Medical Center Company of Kansas City, MO, for the furnishing of X-ray services for use by the Medical Examiner's Office, in an amount not to exceed $25,000.00; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the contract, to the extent sufficient appropriations to the using spending agency have heretofore been made in the current Jackson County budget.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
