Body
WHEREAS, Allie Huffman, a senior at the University of Central Missouri, was recently named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America Third Team, an honor bestowed on a select group of athletes who excel academically and within their sport; and
WHEREAS, Allie Huffman is majoring in Sports Management and is carrying a 3.62 GPA; and,
WHEREAS, she is a star hitter on the UCM Jennies Volleyball team and recently led the Jennies to their second South Central Regional championship; and,
WHEREAS, Allie led the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletic Association in volleyball kills, averaging 3.96 per set, and ranked fifth in the league with a .347 hitting percentage; and,
WHEREAS, nationally, Allie is ranked 28th in kills per set and 48th in hitting percentage; and,
WHEREAS, Allie has had an impressive volleyball career at UCM, having been a four-time All-American, and the University's all-time leader in total attacks, second on the all-time point list with 1,819.5, and third on the career kills list with 1,686; and,
WHEREAS, during her four-year career at UCM, Allie led the team to a 125-25 record and was key in its three straight MIAA titles; and,
WHEREAS, Allie's proud parents are Keith and Deanna Huffman of Lee's Summit, MO, and she has three sisters, Erin, Jill, and Anna; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Legislature hereby congratulates Allie Huffman on being selected for the College Sports Information Directors of America Academic All-America Third Team, and extends best wishes to her in all of her future endeavors.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
