Body
WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City has been providing animal control services for unincorporated Jackson County under a cooperative agreement with the County since July 2003; and,
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works now recommends a contract whereunder the City will continue to provide these services to the County in 2004 for specified compensation; and,
WHEREAS, the Public Works Director has requested that the attached Agreement for Animal Control Services with the City of Kansas City be approved; and,
WHEREAS, this Agreement is in the best interest of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of Jackson County; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature that the County Executive be and is hereby authorized to execute the attached Agreement for Animal Control Services with the City of Kansas City; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contract.
Enacted and Approved
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
