Body
WHEREAS, Section 1040.1 of the Jackson County Code, 1984, eliminates the requirement for competitive bidding when items to be purchased can be obtained from only one source; and,
WHEREAS, Section 1063.00 of the Code requires notification of and approval by the Legislature on such sole source purchases exceeding $5,000.00; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director recommends a contract with Sports Officials Association of Shawnee, Kansas, for the furnishing of officiating services for the 1995-96 Jackson County Softball
and Basketball Leagues for use by the Parks and Recreation Department; and,
WHEREAS, the Purchasing Director further recommends that it not take competitive bids with regard to said contract for the reason that Sports Officials Association of Shawnee, Kansas, is the
only supplier of officiating services for 1995-96 Softball and Basketball Leagues in the Kansas Ci y metropolitan area meeting the necessary requirements; therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the Purchasing Director be, and hereby is, authorized to execute for the County a contract with Sports Officials Association of Shawnee, Kansas, for the furnishing of officiating services for the 1995-96 Jackson County Softball and Basketball Leagues for the Parks and Recreation Department, in an amount not to exceed $158,000.00; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the manager of the Division of Finance is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the contract thereby made.
Attorney Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of he Legislature.
