AN ORDINANCE appropriating $77,750.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 2002 Special Road and Bridge Fund, and authorizing the County Executive to execute an agreement with Eastern Jackson County Betterment Council, for funding of inter-jurisdictional transit services, at a cost to the County not to exceed $77,750.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the County and Eastern Jackson County Betterment Council desire to enter into an Agreement, a copy of which is attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference, whereunder the County will pay $77,750.00 to Eastern Jackson County Betterment Council for the provision of inter-jurisdictional transit services between municipalities within Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, in order to fund this expenditure, an appropriation is necessary; and,
WHEREAS, the County Executive recommends this appropriation as an amendment to her 2002 proposed annual County budget; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the unappropriated surplus of the 2002 Special Road and Bridge Fund be and hereby is made:

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Agreement is hereby approved and that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute the Agreement on behalf of the County; and,
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Director of the Department of Finance is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the Agreement.

Effective Date: This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
