AN ORDINANCE appropriating $270,757.00 from the unappropriated surplus of the 2005 Grant Fund to cover the Jackson County Health Department's Jail Diversion by Law Enforcement Crisis Intervention grant received from the U. S. Department of Health and Human Services and authorizing the County Executive to execute contracts with Community Network for Behavioral Healthcare, Inc. ("CommCare") in the amount of $95,592.00, Re-Discover Mental Health Services ("Re-Discover") in the amount of $40,500.00, Swope Health Services ("Swope") in the amount of $45,500.00, and Truman Medical Center ("TMC") in the amount of $3,000.00.

Body
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Health Department has been awarded a grant in the amount of $270,757.00 by the United States Department of Health and Human Services to provide treatment services to a client population as a jail diversionary measure; and,
WHEREAS, this is the third year of this grant program; and,
WHEREAS, this grant is subject to an in-kind match in the amount of $98,167.00, to be provided by subcontracted service providers; and,
WHEREAS, an appropriation is necessary to place the grant funds in the proper spending account; and,
WHEREAS, the grant term is June 1, 2005 through May 31, 2006; now therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the following appropriation from the unappropriated surplus of the 2005 Grant Fund be and hereby is made:

BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the contracts.

Effective Date: This ordinance shall be effective immediately upon its signature by the County Executive.
