Body
WHEREAS, by Resolution 11294, dated May 13, 1996, the Legislature did authorize the County to provide funding to all municipalities in Jackson County whose police departments sponsor Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) or similar anti-drug programs; and,
WHEREAS, there are additional monies appropriated for DARE in 1996 that have remained unencumbered pending resolution of an issue question regarding allocation of funds; and,
WHEREAS, all outstanding issues have been resolved and it is now the recommendation of the COMBAT Commission that the same municipalities receive an allocation under the same funding formula as used under Resolution 11294, in the amounts shown below:

Grain Valley Police Department $ 0.00
Grandview Police Department $ 4,450.00
Independence Police Department $33,374.00
Kansas City Police Department $38,936.00
Lee's Summit Police Department $17,799.00
Raytown Police Department $ 4,450.00
TOTAL $105,684.00
and,
WHEREAS, the attached First Addendum to Agreement provides a suitable mechanism by which the requested funds can be transferred to the participating municipalities; and,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that the County Executive be and hereby is authorized to execute addenda to the agreements with the cities of Blue Springs, Buckner, Grandview, Independence, Kansas City, Lee's Summit, and Raytown, in the aggregate amount of $105,684.00, in a form substantially similar to that attached; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of the Department of Finance be and hereby is authorized to make all payments, including final payment on the agreements and addenda thereto...Attorney
Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
