Body
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Children's Services Fund was established to keep Jackson County's kids safe, healthy, and hopeful; and,
WHEREAS, the Children's Services Fund's priorities include crisis intervention, counseling, therapy, home and community-based intervention, shelter and transitional living, and prevention services; and,
WHEREAS, the Jackson County Children's Service Fund is governed by a board of directors appointed by the County Executive that represents our vibrant communities across the County; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature recognizes the service of outgoing board director Justice Horn for serving the Jackson County community as the District One Board Member on the Children's Services Fund; and,
WHEREAS, Justice has been an active member at board meetings and continuously advocated on behalf of members of the County community who have historically not been at the table; and,
WHEREAS, Justice served during a transformative time for the Fund as it embarked on a reauthorization that received overwhelming majority support from the voters of Jackson County; and,
WHEREAS, with the recent vote, the Children's Service Fund will be a permanent part of the County community and has increased its capacity to keep Jackson County's kids safe, healthy, and hopeful; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature thanks community members who step up to serve their community on a County board or commission for the betterment of the County; and,
WHEREAS, the Legislature thanks outgoing Board Director Justice Horn, for serving out a full two-year term on the Fund Board; now therefore,
