WHEREAS, the Legislature proposes to amend its rules to provide that the stated starting time of its meetings be 3:00 P.M. Mondays, as well as to make clear the Legislature’s authority to change a meeting’s location by majority vote; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that Rule 12 of the Rules of the Jackson County Legislature be and hereby is amended, to read as follows:
RULE TWELVE. Regular Meetings.
The Legislature shall hold its regular meeting on Monday. On the first, third, fourth, and fifth Monday of the month, the meeting shall be at 3:00 P.M. at the Kansas City Courthouse. On the second Monday of the month, the meeting shall be at 3:00 P.M. at the Eastern Jackson County Courthouse. If Monday is a County holiday, the meeting shall be held on the following Tuesday, at the same time as regularly scheduled. The exact time and/or place of any succeeding regular meeting can be changed by majority vote.

Effective Date: This Resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage by a majority of the Legislature.
