Body
WHEREAS, the County has a need for small arms ammunition for use by the Sheriff's Office, the Department of Corrections, the Drug Task Force, and the Parks + Rec Department's Park Safety and Enforcement Unit; and,
WHEREAS, the Finance and Purchasing Department has bid this contract in the past and has not received competitive or complete bids; and,
WHEREAS, the State of Missouri's contract with Precision Delta Corporation of Ruleville, MS, offers a large selection of ammunition from which the law enforcement agencies may choose and offer higher discounts on pricing than the County would be able to obtain with its own bid; and,
WHEREAS, the Sheriff's Office, the Department of Corrections, the Drug Task Force, and the Parks + Rec Department's Park Safety and Enforcement Unit all recommend taking advantage of this state contract; and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 1030.4 of the Jackson County Code, the Director of Finance and Purchasing recommends the award of a twelve-month term and supply contract for the furnishing of small arms ammunition to Precision Delta Corporation of Ruleville, MS, under the terms and conditions of State of Missouri Contract No. CC220604003, an existing, competitively-bid government contract; and,
WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate Jackson County to pay any amount, with the availability of funds for specific purchases remaining subject to annual appropriation; now therefore,
