Body
WHEREAS, the County has a need for employee group life, voluntary additional life, and dependent life (AD&D) insurance for use countywide; and,
WHEREAS, the County's life insurance broker, Garry and Associates, has solicited bids for these insurance products; and,
WHEREAS, a total of nine notifications were distributed and four responses were received, from the following:

MetLife
New York, NY
Unum
Chattanooga, TN
USAble
Little Rock, AR
and,
WHEREAS, Garry and Associates recommends the award of a twelve-month term and supply contract with one twelve-month option to extend for the furnishing of employee group life, additional life, and dependent life insurance coverage for use countywide to Standard Insurance Company of Portland, OR, for the reason that it has submitted the lowest and best bid, as set forth in the attached Request for Legislature Action; and,
WHEREAS, this award is made on an as needed basis and does not obligate the County to pay any specific amount; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, that award be made as recommended by Garry and Associates and that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be, and hereby is authorized, to execute for the County any and all documents necessary to the accomplishment of the award; and,
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Finance and Purchasing be and hereby is authorized to make all payments including final payment on the contract to the extent that sufficient appropriations to the usi...
