Body
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Works has recommended that chapter 44 of the County Code, relating to nuisances, be amended to make clear that antique automobiles are exempt from the nuisance provisions only if they are properly registered and licensed; and,

WHEREAS, the recommended amendment is in the best interests of the health, welfare, and safety of the citizens of the County; now therefore,

BE IT ORDAINED by the County Legislature of Jackson County, Missouri, as follows:

Section A. Enacting Clause.

Section 4401., Jackson County Code, 1984, is hereby repealed and one new section enacted in lieu thereof, to be known as section 4401., to read as follows:

4401. Abandoned Wrecked Damaged Demolished of Disabled Vehicles.
Abandoned, wrecked, damaged, demolished or disabled vehicles means any abandoned, wrecked, damaged, demolished or disabled vehicle, or portion of a vehicle which is:

a. Attractive Nuisance. Left or permitted to remain on any property which is accessible to children for a period in excess of fifteen (15) days and which may be an attractive nuisance to children and constitute a danger to children;

b. Vegetation Growing Around or In Vehicle. Left or permitted to remain on any property where weeds, grass and other vegetation are allowed to grow in or around the vehicle; or

c. Breeding Place for Vermin. Left or permitted to remain on any property where the vehicle, may afford a harborage place or breeding place for mosquitoes, flies, rodents, rats or other vermin.

4401.1 Exclusions.

Section 4401.00 shall not apply to:
